Notes & Combos

Banlist legal pure spright list that I've spent some time playing with. I've always loved sprights and how they work, but since they used to be tier 1/2, I'd see them everywhere and it'd be quite boring. Now that the deck is hit and less prevalent, I went out to try this deck out, and also I was curious to see whether this deck was actually dead like everyone claimed (or atleast this variant).

I've not settled on these ratios just yet and theyre a bit over the place because I was still in the process of experimenting when I found myself hitting M5. The kozmo monster is a flexible mannequin cat target into most decks (including kash), which is a monster negate + destroy, but now I'm not certain on this pick anymore since I already have access to a negate via djinn buster, so I'm seeing which one makes the next list so I can add back centaurea. Beckoning beast engine is fantastic, only regrets are that it rly rly plays into droll, but I've only been hit by that terrible card a few times, and I think people will drop it with the release of kash, so I'll stick with this engine. This engine also gives easy access to djinn buster, and since I'm not on the win more toxic melffy stuff, I do need alternative forms of interruption. The nimble and frog engines are surprisingly still functional, but they will brick you sometimes, though not as much as you'd like to believe. Lastly, I'll give a shout-out to pixies, gamma burst and diagusto phoenix, which are severely underrated and netted me sooo many wins. I haven't tried the ninja mosquito yet since I don't want to craft it, but even still I like this style more since the mosquito is reliant on your opponent controlling a high attack monster, though I'll happily try it if i magically pull it from a legacy pack. I also seem a bit lost about masquerna targets; sometimes i don't have enough on field for goddess, and sometimes i dont have enough in hand for unicorn, but I guess the latter is better because it means I had a good hand and was able to use it to build my board and handtrap my opponent. Still, thinking of dropping avramax and playing both, but avra just insta wins sometimes so its worth the keep, maybe.
