Notes & Combos

Wanted to share this deck potentially one last time in a while, since Arise-Heart is coming out and I don’t see this deck having a good time in that meta.

For this season I played 3 decks en route to Master 5. It was this deck, Purrely, and Floo. All 3 decks were between 59%-62% win rate, but sharing this one because it’s been my favorite deck for a couple seasons now.

Pre-Purrely, the reason why I felt this was the best deck was because Bystials, Super Poly, and Evenly were all so good into the meta. This deck used to destroy Tear. However, with the current diversity of the meta, it has put non-engine cards in an awkward spot, because outside of your most generic Maxx C, Ash, and Imperm, nothing is good/great into everything, whereas Super Poly and Evenly used to be complete blowout card. This makes this deck a good, viable option, but not dominant. In fact, I don’t feel like any deck is dominant right now, including Purrely.

Outside of swapping out Evenly with Imperm, the only other changes I made were in the ED.

Additions:

  • Borreload Furious, Sprind, Alba-Lenatus

Omissions:

  • Albion, Striker Dragon, Lv 9 Predaplant

Sprind enables you to fuse away non Light/Dark’s with Albaz through Rindbrumm (common vs Naturia & Kashtira cards), the most common use of the popping effect will be for My Friend. Borreload Furious is a card that I probably should’ve already been playing way before. It’s most commonly made through a mid-game Albion when you have a good amount of GY resources. Both offer ability to pop S/T which this deck really lacks outside of Branded Beast. Alba-Lenatus is for Dragon Link. It comes up very, very rarely, but it will win you that game, which is why I’m playing it even at the cost of the 2nd Albion (which hasn’t come up for me yet). Another option for this slot would be Chaos Angel. Again, it goes back to the ability for S/T removal. It’s specifically important in the Naturia Runick match up because you have very few ways of getting rid of Fountain.

Just 2 random but interesting replays

Replay #1: Going 2nd vs Purrely

Replay #2: Going 1st vs Labrynth - If you see someone using Lab sleeves and display picture, and they have a response window after every action you do, not setting your Called By entering end phase just might win you the game (also why you should always set non-quick plays first).
