Notes & Combos

So the Branded cards are in MD, and they are very good in general but they also synergize with ThunDra.

TFTV is one of the best cards in the game, if not the best atm imho. It trades one for one, while giving value, it lets you destroy your own cards to dodge effects and make sure your cards resolve vs Imperm, Droplet, DT Flame, etc.

I made a video about all the Branded cards in the list with a lot of good info (the interaction between the cards, how to play into them, I show some combos and explain how to use the disruptions), check it out if you want to learn more. Its a harder version of ThunDra but its very rewarding if you know all the small bits to get more value out of your choices.

A few things about my experience after recording the video:

  • Alba-Lenatus, is something I forgot to mention in the video, and I wasn't sure how important it would be, and it was very important, you clear opponent's Albaz while maybe sending Druiswurm to send another special summoned monster, which is a strong play when you are locked through the WAlbaz's eff. The end phase eff is also clutch. Also depending on your rank you might see more people leaving Dragons on their field and not playing around Alba-Lenatus.
  • The 3rd Lubellion was smth I had and decided to cut it due to being a hiderance going 2nd when you draw multiples, so my time watching my opponent solitaire is in vain less often.
  • For that same reason I'll like test different ratios on other cards like Solar and maybe even Ash Blossom.
  • The extra feels fine as it is, in the video I mention Dis Pater, but that play can be done with Chaos Angel, and it didn't come up enough to also try to fit Dis Pater as well.

All the Matchups feel very winnable, the issue is slop decks if they go first, you draw dupes, or you have a hand trap that doesn't trade in your favor, e.g. Maxx c, Fuwalos, Ash gets negated, or Ash is a weak play vs the opponent (I'm considering cutting down to 2, and main keeping bcuz of Dtail). Obviously the best decks will always be favorable if they do first, but if their hand isn't the best or they aren't very good, you can win even with only decent hands, the main hinder is dupes and bad trades.

The linked playlist starts with Branded Fusion engine before the support, and the 3rd video and onwards is with the new support.
