Notes & Combos
Surprisingly anticlimactic climb.
I kid you not 4 out of the 5 duels from diamond 2 to 1, people scooped when I was going first.
I always played memento with super poly which is still really good, but I decided I wanted more extra deck space, so I traded it in for droplet.
Breaking Boards is so fun with it.
Memento has quite a few bricks which is why i maxed out the fusion spell, from 2 to 3, and added 2 goblin biker grand breakouts and one, one for one, so I could get more special summon consistency.
Was playing around 42 cards with an added imperm and mulch for crossout, but then I decided to lower it to 40 and use less handtraps and emphasize board breakers more.
For the extra deck, I didn't really get the hype around pair-a-dice smasher until I realized you could just bring out another tatsu, along with your first horse and akihiron for a 3 xyz material. Felt so gross using it lol. Only used it after being maxx c'd.
Selene and Accesscode are great backup for board breaking as well, but didnt come up that much.
Anima was a fun little tech card too, stole some monsters was fairly useful.
Biggest Flaw of Memento IMO, is that we can't play through nib and most people nib before we get to apollo right around the cross sheep summon. But even still, if they nib before combined creation you could still put up a decent board.
Herald is so nice to have as a spell/trap negate, and can be made fairly easily with either your two dark fiends (ghattic and goblin) or your two earth beasts (Tatsu or shleepy).
It's not your ideal board based on the standard memento combos, but the best board I somehow ended up on was, 2400 apollo, herald (spell/trap negate), Creation King (mucho pops), Combined Creation which usually leads into an angwitch into mace or shleepy, which gets you to twin dragon and gets both memento hand traps. And you usually have a set fusion and bone party for chimera and maybe horned dragon pops.
