Notes & Combos
Sekka's Handtraps was inspired by a certain streamerman with some changes. It did fine for the climb to Master V but I'm not sure it would work for the climb to Master I.
To the uninitiated, here's the concept of this deck: blind second and hand trap them, play on their turn with Hop Ear making synchros to further disrupt them.
Turn 0: Hop Ear Squadron Plays (after resolving hand traps)
- Lv. 6 body (Bystial/Driver) + Hop Ear = Accel Synchro, special Hop Ear -> activate Accel to special Stardust and immediately Synchro with Hop Ear + Stardust = Baronne (unaffected for the turn - I've had duels where the opponent kept wasting effects on Baronne)
- Lv. 4 body (Ret. C) + Hop Ear = Silvera (book their field) + search Maxx C
How to make other synchros:
- Lv. 2 body (normal summoned Ipiria) + Hop Ear = Arclight (honestly, it barely came up and when it did, it just got run over)
- Normal Summon Effect Veiler + Bystial = Black Rose Dragon (typical way); sometimes, Ret. C from last turn + normal summon a Ghost Sister works too to clear the board
- Chaos Angel can be made with Hop Ear + Lubellion, if you got access through Saronir. Rarely, Capshell + Lubellion gets you there too with the bonus battle protection effect.
XYZ/Link plays:
- normal summon Ipiria (draw 1) / Capshell, with a 2nd body (e.g., Bystials, etc.) make Elf (draw 1 with Capshell here), special Ipiria/Capshell back, make Gigantic. From here, either:
- use Gigantic's effect to special the other normal summon to draw 1, make S:P to banish 1 (triggers Capshell here)
- attack with 3200 atk gigantic to go into 3 mat Zeus (can consider playing Downerd for 4 mat, but not sure what to cut for her)
- if you have a body on board already, you can consider normal Ret. C and make S:P just to search Maxx C
Some tech choices:
- Bystial package: you still play 1 Lubellion since you can get access via Saronir, it can make some Synchro plays, and trigger Druiswurm easily. I tried 2 instead of 3 copies of the Bystials to reduce bricking from redundancy since you can draw a lot.
- Psy-Framegear package: Gamma/Delta are strong and can make Hop Ear live. It rarely comes up but this Hop Ear line can dodge targeted effects on Accel Synchro as you have another Tuner on the field already when its summoned (Gamma/Delta) so you can immediately activate its effect to Tribute itself to Synchro out a Baronne. When the Psy-Framegears resolved it, it was pretty insane, but in exchange I sometimes bricked on them
