Notes & Combos

Finally reached master again with the punks. I love this deck so much.

The card designs and aesthetic is so sick and the deck is really fun to play as well. The K9 cards make the skill ceiling of the deck sky rocket too.

I tried to get the deck as close to 40 as possible, but around 43-44 seemed to be my sweet spot. I wanted to play madame spider and the monster effect negate trap for the extra plus 1 draw with the field spell, but they were really bricky.

Most of the games I won the coin toss and went first I won, but it reallyyyy struggles going second. The K9 cards help out with that a lot.

In older Punk variants most people would only play 1 Deer Note and was annoying if you drew it, but now with jokul, playing multiple Deer Note's feels amazing.

Extra deck wasn't that tight really and was an easy 15 to make. I played around with adding I:P instead of almiraj, but he's needed for the times you only open up with 1 Ze Amin and want to grab Rising Scale.

I play the two Amazing Dragons so one can go into the xyz monster negate (and usually before 5 summons too) and the other is for synchro summoning turn 2.

I know people joke about TY-FLOP but he genuinely came up clutch enough times to warrant the addition. And also being able to go into TY-PHON with Lupis on the opponents turn when theyre spamming the field with bodies is really cool as well.

The ideal endboard with the best starters and no interuptions would probably look something like, Punk Jam Fever (xyz monster negate), Dragite (spell/trap negate), Juraishin (the new level 11 synchro that's raigekis on opponents turn), Ripper, and I:P/S:P, plus on top of that any hand traps would would've drawn into cause of the field spell.

And on top of that you can go into vallon on the opponents turn if theyve used any monster effect in the hand or grave which they most likely have.

I'm a HUGE proponent of running veiler and other handtraps over imperm because I like to mazimize the chance of drawing into them on the opponents turn with the field spell.

Side note, I recently added, Draco Berserker, and found that his monster banish effect can be surprisingly efficient. For example, when razen was summoned in his column and tried to destroy the column, if you chain berserker it doesn't resolve I guess cause Razen wasn't in the column anymore. And he also counters Izuna.

Enough Ranting lol, but yeah, I'd love to hear any comments or thoughts on the deck, I could talk about it all day.
