Notes & Combos
Super poly, evenly matched, and Typhon are the MVPs this season. Unfortunately ran out of time to reach M1 so only got to M2.
Goal of the deck is consistency above all else. Ideally, you will draw a hand with 5 unique cards, so I am running 49 cards instead of 40. Diplos is the bane of my existence and the less I draw him the better, the deck size helps here too.
I included the Odion engine because it synergizes well with Dinomorphia in a few ways. Most obviously, the Odion engine is great for baiting out Ash and helping control going first. In my opinion, the best thing about this engine is that swamp diety is a negate that can be used even if the opp don't activate effects which can stop cards like Typhon and Saint Azamina dead in their tracks.
The engine helps break certain boards going second as well by soaking up interaction since one Odion card can turn into many, which helps a lot against destruction effects which can take out traps before they become live. This also gives a bit of a stronger grind game. An added bonus is you always have a low attack body on the field to protect Rexterm from Hollie Sue.
The deck is very flexible due to the amount of one card starters, so adjust as you like.
Good matchups into most meta decks (especially VSK9) but a bit rough into Dracotail though soul drain helps.
Here are some card choice explanations:
- Not running temple, anguish patterns, or serket because I feel they do not provide enough value to run 3 soft bricks. Could be good in a 60 card decklist though.
- Running 3 trap trick and only 2 trap holic because trap trick is less prone to interruption. Holic also does not synergize well with counter traps and cannot pop the Odion traps while man is on the field.
- Evenly matched, and super poly are here because board breakers are extremely important for this list since it splits plays. Odion plays on your turn and Dinomorphia plays on the opps. That also makes it harder to protect your plays, meaning the deck is more vunerable going second.
- Not running cards like dimensional barrier or rivalry of the warlords. I do not like those cards because I feel that they are extremely unfun. Of course this deck is toxic in many ways but I don't think that it is worse or less interactable than generic omni negate spam or towers turbo. If you do want to run those cards though, they would probably be pretty good in this decklist.

Most replays are going second. I don't think they are anything super insane but give a good idea about the capabilities of the deck.
