Notes & Combos
Predaplanet actually felt really good. It was helpful going for lethal cus it can be used in the battle phase, it could dodge targeted interuption, and it is a trap we can mill to enable the Dominus cards.
The Pendulums felt good. It was certainly impactful, but it was also really awkward to access. It requires me to comit two searches to get both and it feels really bad to get one then get fetching the other stop by some kind of handtrap. I'd cut them but they are monsters and you need a certain density of monsters to make Scorpio consistent.
Speaking of I ran 1 Scoprio for 95% of the climb cus honestly the card does NOT feel good by modern yugioh standards. Predaplant is seriously lacking good starters, and for that reason I had to bump it up to finish the climb. I would kill for a plant ROTA.
I go into more detail regarding some of my choices in my Fusion Cup version of this deck. While my opinions there hold true, high Diamond was almost exclusively decks that won or lost based on the coin flip and that opened up a ton of variance. Setting 5 and passing wasn't enough to stop those decks so I had to up my engine count.
All in all, even if Diamond 1 was a pain, the climb from Plat 5 to Diamond 2 was some of the most fun I have had with Yugioh all year. I absolutely love the deck, and I look forward to the next time they get more love.
