Notable Changes From Season 20

Terahertz in Master Duel was a big question I wanted to explore and I'm sold on its inclusion. I mainly saved Terahertz when I needed it to set up Superfactorial by sending names as I play through interruptions. With enough extenders you can focus the Superfactorial search with Circ and Alemb and use Terahertz to send the remaining names. I did not use Aggregator much and do not consider it necessary to justify Terahertz, which is counter-intuitive. For the most part my T1 board was Heatsoul + Transcode or Heatsoul after Laplacian handrip if I had an extender.

Second Accesscode is not for Kashtira Unicorn, this is a package with Link Spider and Crystal Heart. Consider it a flex spot since this was a call for Nibiru which saw an increase in play. The idea is to make Accesscode using Splash + Update Jammer, enter end of main to bait Nibiru, then use Nibiru token for Link Spider + an extender to make Crystal Heart. Then you revive Link Spider with Heart and make Transcode to revive Update Jammer for 2nd Accesscode.

One Alembertian is the elephant in the room, but since I made concessions that are flex spots for other risks I was okay with risking this. Going 2nd all the Unicorns went for this but I was still able to OTK (even when running 1 Accesscode). This might not be the case when Arise-Heart drops but only time will tell.

Matchup Breakdown (95 Duels; 47 Heads, 48 Tails)
  • 15 Labrynth (15.8%, W/R = 53%)
  • 8 Dragon Link (8.4%, W/R = 50%)
  • 8 Purrely (8.4%, W/R = 63%)
  • 6 Kashtira (6.3%, W/R = 67%)
  • 6 P.U.N.K. (6.3%, W/R = 67%)
  • Runner-Ups: 5 Mikanki & Spright, 4 Swordsoul, 3 Mathmech

I started this climb by getting Master V before the Purrely pack released and finished the rest of the climb after. I observed two different metas, where Diamond was dominated by Labrynth and Master had Purrely introduced. Both were fairly diverse. This climb was faster than last month's so the sample sizes is much smaller than average.

In Master, Purrely was the most represented and it was only 8 instances. Dragon Link saw an uptick in representation and Tear dropped off. While Tear is still strong, there was no need to respect it if people did not represent the deck. Overall, there was quite a bit of variety in the ladder. My winrate going 1st was 66% aand going 2nd was 62.5%. For comparison, I usually expect a 70% winrate going 1st and a 50% winrate going 2nd.
