Notes & Combos

Here's Labrynth ft. Tour Guide, again!

If you want more detail regarding this, read the write-up I did last season, here: Tour Guide Labrynth.

Big note before you copy this, I don't actually think the DBarrier at 2 is the correct ratio, I just felt like there were a lot of Purrely in Master 2, which was the right decision. In fact, out of 9 games in Master 2, 5 were Purrely.

I'll just elaborate on what was different this season. This season came the weakning of Tear but the arrival of new challengers in the form of Purrely and Mikanko and one of our most dreaded matchups in the form of Dragon Link. Purrely and Dragon Link were common meta threats that we have to respect, but unexpectedly, Labrynth mirrors also came up a bit this season!

For non-engine choices, I decided to stick with targeted negates for consistency (like Mourner and Veiler) as I felt that they were consistently decent (though of course not excellent) against a lot of matchups instead of more targeted non-engine being dead in a lot of matchups. Depending on your matchup spread, you can of course change this. Droll is another addition to be potentially searched with Sangan if you manage to find out your matchup early or as second priority to Maxx "C".

Otherwise, the other major change to the list is the Extra Deck where I had put in the Zeus Xyzs. This came up quite a bit, and over the course of the climb, none of the Extra Deck was unnecessary unlike last season's.

Unfortunately, this season's climb was much harder than the last so I have many more games to show in my stats this time. I even tilted all the way down from M2 to M4 at some point. Labrynth mirrors were much harder than I expected, especially since of course Lab does not care about Maxx "C" as much so most mirrors where they had more access to their engine (more Welcomes, more Cooclocks) often were the deciding factor and the Rank 3s were not enough to beat the matchup.

If you want help or more details, ask in the Labrynth channel on Discord!

Hope you enjoy the stats.

Feel free to point out any misplays in the comments, I'm sure there's some, especially in one of the Labrynth mirror replays. If you're looking at this list from the future, the replays here might already be deleted or may be of a season after it. In which case, sorry.
