Continuing the journey to play every single deck featured in 5D's and today we talk about my least favorite signer dragon deck, blackwings. I know they have a lot of fans but I just couldn't vibe with the deck for many reasons.

First let's talk about the decklist itself. Many blackwing versions include kali yuga but you should know by now that doesn't fly by me so I'm relying on pure blackwings. Now as a pure blackwing deck, blackwings do have some great combos that end to a similar board of black rose that I played 2 months ago. Great against decks that activate a lot of monster effects, terrible against spell and traps. Unlike black rose that can play through some hand traps, blackwings lose to every popular hand trap being used right now, especially the mulcharmys so I decided to go turn 2 instead to at least prevent dealing with those cards.

Typical turn 2 cards but I do want to give a mention to a card not out yet. That would be Assault Blackwing-Kusanagi The Gathering Storm. If you are going to try something similar to my build I would wait for this card. Being able to attack every monster on the field and deal piercing is such a great card for turn 2 that we can even play book of eclipse to help otk. Since we don't have it now I'm relying on Onimaru for just a 6k attack. And if all else fails we summon Black-Winged Assault Dragon and pray it's enough for game.

Overall, wasn't a fan to begin with and after playing still not a fan. Maybe if kusanagi was in the picture it would be a different story but right now I don't see myself coming back to this deck anytime soon.
