Notes & Combos
I was testing a version of the stun deck that I got from Tantan, was really surprised by how strong this deck is. I've gotten to Master 1 with stun decks before, but I thought that this season it wouldn't work because everyone is running book of moon, herald of the abyss, and other ways to target a single monster and eliminate them.
One huge boon going for us is clockwork night, it's so good I'm honestly considering cutting moon mirror shield, you can hit over any normal summon now. The nadir servant package and decisive battle were cards I was skeptical of as well but they have tons of utility, nadir either acts as removal going 2nd or allows you to send garura for a draw or @ignister for some counter-play, and ecclesia is great for closing out duels by beating down an opponent's monsters and searching punishment.
Going 2nd is obviously hard but honestly not as hard as you would think, no one puts up very many negates so as long as you can somewhat clear their board and summon fossil dyna or jowgen you've taken control of the duel. Most of the extra deck are punishment, decisive battle and nadir targets, but I have 2 generic link monsters in case I want to link of monsters I steal with crackdown or change of heart. I could be convinced to cut the link 2 monsters, I never summoned them, even if you have just one stolen monster and ecclesia you can't special summon from the extra deck the turn after using punishment, and you usually have punishment if you have ecclesia.
Duels can be long, but they are simplified by your normal summons so just be patient. I was trying to climb with a going 2nd dogmatika deck, got up to Master 3, was trying a few other decks that would go 50/50, then I tried this deck and went 12-3, won the last three games in a row, two of which were going 2nd. Strong deck, simple, feels like it could be simplified even more tbh. Feels like old yu gi oh.
