Notes & Combos

Climbed all the way to M1 with post banlist spright. I feel happy with where pure spright is at rn, because they hit the deck enough to the point where most ppl will stop playing it, but it's still good enough to be called a strong rogue competitor - you see, ny dilemma is I like playing good decks, but if I see a deck everywhere then it gets boring. Into kashtira format, with thrust in the game, everyone is going to be on board breakers and I'm going to have to pivot to blind second spright (fingers crossed with all the hits, even though elf should help push through interrupts).

I've made some improvements over my M5 list. Most is the same, but a notable change I've made is I dropped mannequin cat. As much as I wanted to play mannequin cat, there weren't any game winning targets for it this format, and seemingly none for the next (sure, kristya is good, but I'm not crafting it only to play it until kash drops lol). Djinn buster felt like it was more than enough as an interrupt, and sometimes I'd be able to put it up early using the beckoning beast engine, allowing me to protect my combo lines. The ceiling of the endboard was low, but usually it did the trick alongside non engine. I'm personally not a fan of the melffy engine because I think it's toxic, however now I think it's probably suboptimal because 2 bricks is not worth the pay off anymore if herald of the arc light can no longer insta kill, especially considering how bricky the nimble and frog engines already are. Speaking of which, the banlist definitely hurt, but it by no means made the deck unplayable, and very few games I lost to just bricking. I added phoenix in place of mannequin cat, which was such an mvp versus backrow, floodgates, or to even force an imperm, and it's a good high attack link when spamming 2s onto field for gamma burst otk. I added goddess in place of unicorn because I felt it was a better meta call and almost never had a discard to spare.

I'd like to focus in on the inclusion of droplet a bit, and moreso the replacement of called by for it. While I do respect, I do not fear maxx c, and I lost many games going second where I had a called by and it couldn't do much. I feel like ash and TTT are enough to respect maxx c. Beckoning beast gets me to a monster negate in 1 special summon, I can chain starter to maxx, and also playing 2 red and a carrot I found I usually hard drew them. I never regretted including droplet. Also vs maxx otk is very easy.

Actually managed to get a pretty good replay vs Exosister, where I got maxx c'd 3 times and won. (I forgot to ash lol)
