Runick Spright

Notes & Combos

Minimum turn 1 endboard is usually Elf, Carrot/Red (Carrot > Red in most cases), IP, and Fountain. Most times you will have Spright Smashers set and/or Runick quick-plays + handtraps in hand.

Being able to potentially see what deck your opponent is running from your Runick banishes is important in building your board so pay attention to that.

Try to bait out any handtraps before you activate Gigantic Spright. Hugin is not hard-OPT so having that negated still allows you to search for Fountain if you summon it again. Gigantic is hard-OPT so making sure it resolves is very important.

Gigantic will allow you to go into Ipiria, Capshell, or any Spright name. If you think they have Imperm and want to risk the Nibiru, you can make Elf before activating Gigantic (in Elf's zone) to avoid the Imperm.

IP allows you to make Unicorn (IP + any monster), if you need to bounce a card, or make Avramax (IP + Elf), if they attempt to go to battle phase with a high ATK monster/you plan to OTK or clear a monster. BE CAREFUL with making Avramax as people tend to bait that summon and then they continue with their MP1, clearing your board.

Spright Smashers is very useful for removing cards through its non-targeting removal. It is a good way to prevent Kashtiratheosis from resolving as it can remove the Kashtira it targets. All around very useful fail-safe if nothing else can work.

The Runick cards are very important when breaking boards going second. Freezing Curses, Flashing Fire, or Tip to search the first two is the best way to out Arise-Heart. Baiting Noir's bounces also allows you to use those cards to negate or destroy it so you can do your combo.

Nearly every Runick/Spright card is recyclable thanks to Fountain and Elf; however, Fountain is the almost always the more important card if you can only choose to keep one on the field (as a result of something like Evenly Matched).

Sometimes this deck is really just some RNG heart of the cards draws that wins you duels, and that's just the fun of Yu-Gi-Oh.

All duels in Master were done post-Flame of Fury release.

W/L: 22-3

2 losses against Lab. One because of a misplay on my end, and the other because of a bad hand against Lab + Lovely hitting my Runick Tip.

1 loss against Kashtira because they Book of Moon'd their Fenrir that I targeted with my Freezing Curses.
