Notes & Combos
I played Orcust and reached 1750 rating last month, but I was never fully satisfied with the deck’s performance when using the FS engine, Millennium, or Mitsu variants.
Then I came across the Top 1 rated Orcust decklist (huge thanks to GreyGhost and friends!), and decided to give it a try for this month’s grind — and it turned out to be far better than all the other versions I’ve tested, giving me multiple win streaks.
I made a few small adjustments to fit the new banlist. I didn’t want to craft a second Galatea (though I’d still recommend it), so I replaced it with Dharc, which actually comes up quite often in Mitsu, Maliss, or mirror matchups. Ty-phoon never really came up for me, so I switched it for Guardragon as a SPoly target — especially since Maliss can end on Transcode.
This version’s playstyle also fits me much better — it’s more control and also more fun, and the sheer number of handtraps plus Super Poly make me feel confident going second. Impulse has also been surprisingly clutch!
