Notes & Combos
Decided to craft the 3 upstart goblins which really hurt the URs but I think it actually does make a big difference. The budget option would be to use into the void, but then you would need to have 3 cards and have to discard hand.
Not exactly sure if the ratios are actually optimal, but essentially we want to have a combination of monster effect negate, some kind of summon flood gate, and some kind of grind game card draw setup.
Morganite is really good for the grind game. Im not sure if 3 is necessary, probably not since we also dont want to brick too hard. I think getting out the monster negate is actually the most important as most decks would need it to play. Dealing with backrow removal is surprisingly easy since it seems like not a lot of people are playing evenly matched.
Anti-battle phase trap is especially good against kashtira since they can still summon high attack monsters very easily even with our floodgates. I used to play messenger of peace but it seems like using trap retains the element of surprise more. I see a lot of people using the synchro only one. I decided to go with this since people can/would frequently make baronne.
A lot of times setting up fountain is actually quite hard with ash, imperm, veiler existing. If we know for sure we want to summon hugan then it is better to do it in draw or stand by phase, but often it isnt super clear since we have goblin. Since hugan search fountain can fail very often, at times it is not worth the discard unless you have talents to draw 2 after (and even then you can get impermed on hugan and ashed on TTT)
Majesty's Fiend is super strong as you can still use hugin protection, and it doesn't have much restrictions like inspector boarder does.
Amano Iwato is an interesting one since you cannot hugan search fountain afterwards. Which means at that point you would just be hoping for mostly spells/traps and likely without fountain.
I crafted Freki but I actually used it 0 times. Chaos Angel could be useful with Majesty's Fiend + Geri but I actually did that 0 times as well.
I feel like since the meta is quite diverse, luck is a pretty factor with any deck. Different decks lose to different things, and often the games are won with key cards that are non-engine that beat specific decks. Duster, Kurikara, Kaiju/Lava Golem/Herald of abyss/red reboot/droll/max c/ash vs lab etc, are often needed to win with any deck and it feels bad to just lose to RPS rng. This deck is my alternative solution.
