Placed 287th Global and 33rd Regional (Europe/Middle East/Oceania/Africa) in the WCS Qualifiers with 37k points.

This is very similar to my March DC Top 500 build, but I stopped using Imperms since Dominus Impulse is the much better handtrap in Lab. Going second, resolving Equation Cannon on a full board (or Daruma Cannon on Link boards) with Solemn Strike or Judgement negating whatever the opponent chains usually results in a win. Strike also helps with Ash on the Welcome Traps and dealing with an S:P Little Knight.

Turn 0 plays with Arias are also very fun, but I often bricked when playing 3, so it's at 2 now.

It helps that board breakers like Duster and Lightning Storm have become rarer due to Tenpai's decline, but decks with a lot of backrow removal have become very prevalent:

  • Blue-Eyes/Fiendsmith Primite Slop with Drillbeam
  • Crystron with Cluster
  • Branded with an unrespondable Khaos Starsource Dragon
  • Mermail with Poseidra, Infantry, etc.
  • Memento with Creation King, Dark Blade, etc.

I'm not sure how Labrynth overall is going to hold up in the new meta, but the Equation Cannon build won't stand a chance against the lack of high-level monsters in Ryzeal and Maliss.

Going first:

  • Can win against any meta deck if hand is decent.
  • Branded is scary because it plays through almost any Trap, so you need to have D-Barrier or one of the floodgates to survive.
  • Against Tenpai, turbo out D-Barrier (ignore playing into Charmies/Maxx C) and they usually lose. If their Field Spell is up, Daruma sends all their monsters to the GY. Occasionally, Ice Dragon's Prison can banish Chundra and that's GGs.

Going second:

  • Plays pretty well into Snake-Eye Fiendsmith due to their lack of backrow negates
    • Summon TY-PHON to force either Promethean or SP, so they cannot SP banish backrow (Promethean blocks the SP summon)
    • Set 5, GG
  • Any Fiendsmith Slop deck is also manageable due to the low power ceiling and Lab's immunity to many handtraps (except Ash).
