Notes & Combos
Well-Performing 50-card SkyStriker Deck for climbing. I'll explain the reasoning behind this deck build.
- 50-cards and Pot of Desires x3. In my opinion, Pot is indisputably the strongest card in the deck, better than the first Raye and the first Engage at the start of the game. Even at the risk of drawing multiple copies, it’s a card I really hope to draw. However, as we all know, using Pot carries the risk of damaging your own deck, so the best solution is always to increase the total number of cards in your deck. There are even times when you can cast a second Pot to win the duel—something a 40-card deck simply can't do.
- Aera Zero, Multirole and Eagle Booster. We need some cards to expand the deck to 50 cards, these three are good choice. Area Zero is the only card in the engine that can provide both a Spell Card and SkyStrikerAce at the same time. It has the potential to rescue some really bad hands such as Raye+Linkage+Non-Spell x3. You can search Engage~Area Zero by SkyStrikerAce Zero, target Ace Zero with Area Zero and try to send her GY. If you success, you can send Aera Zero into GY by Linkage and finish your endboard. Multirole is not only the best partner of Area Zero, but also a powerful weapon in grind games just like playing against to Albaz or another SkyStriker. Eagle booster is not absolutely necessary. It can be discard by Vision, sometimes protect Kagari and Zero. If Multirole has been activated, you can search and cast Eagle booster with Shizuku to change it into another spell in GY.
- More drawing, Less handtrap. This deck plays more spells that having a drawing effect such as Upstart Goblin, Triple Tactics and Thrust. When going second against Kewl Tune, drawing more cards is especially important. KT is hard to be stopped by handtraps and they will steal information about your initial hand, but they can't see what card you just drew. Drawing a large number of cards will help you regain the upper hand. Playing 3x Upstart Goblin does indeed increase the risk from Drolls, but there's no need to worry too much. 6x TTT can effectively counter the opponent who has activated Drolls.
- No Radiant Typhoon monsters. Swen and Eldam behave quite well when you are going first. But they could pose potential risks like competing with Raye for the chance to normal summon in second-going matchups, or reducing the quality of cards drawn during the mid-game. Even without them, Skystriker which goes first has enough to win.
