Notes & Combos
Stumbled upon this deck and had an extremely easy climb. I think the two main reasons are:
- Exosister is an unexpectedly good meta call. It has some properties that are good into meta decks but also doesn't get hard countered by anti-meta decks. I wish I had discovered this sooner, but I just never considered it since this deck has been around forever and isn't considered very good. I think in a way this deck is kind of the "solution" to the ladder meta. I don't really believe in decks that are super extreme in countering the meta decks because they're so match-up and die-roll dependant. On the other hand it's so frustrating running into D-Fissure and Macro Cosmos with meta decks. This just strikes a nice balance.
- Win or lose you finish your games very fast, which means you'll never run into time issues nor will you misplay because you're tired.
Yes this deck mostly plays itself but I thoroughly enjoyed how easy my climb was. I had a 70%+ win rate and I don't think I could've done better with Snake-Eye Fire King, and it would take at least double the time.
In terms of the build, I experimented with both a 3x Thrust build and a 3x Arias trap heavy build from the Meta Weekly. Honest I don't think the non-engine slots make a ton of difference, but I do think that it's best to max out on your Maxx C / Ash outs and playing 40 gives you the best chance of doing that. Veiler vs Mourner is debatable. Veiler works on normal summons whereas Mourner doesn't clash with Shifter so it would be better vs other shifter decks like Kash and VS.
