Notes & Combos

Another month, another Master 1 climb with Dracotail! Honestly, this is one of the most fun decks in Master Duel right now because of how much utility it offers. Last month, I experimented with a Shaddoll package and it performed well, but once I switched to the Magistus engine, the deck reached a whole new level

What does the Magistus engine bring to the table?

  • Magical Meltdown is insane: It prevents the 'activation' of your Fusion spell/effect from being negated. This means Baronne de Fleur, Allied Talker, D/D/D high king caesar , Heraled or even Ghost Belle cannot stop your Fusion Summons (it protects the activation itself, not the effect so Ash still work against you).
  • Response Shielding: Magical Meltdown prevents your opponent from activating cards or effects when a Fusion Monster is Fusion Summoned. For example, you can summon Arthalion, bounce all their impactful monster back to the hand/Extra Deck, and push for game safely.
  • Spenta is incredible: Being able to search Crowley, Special Summon him, and go into a Fusion play without waste a normal Summon is an exceptional advantage. You can also equip a monster from the ED like Artemis to search for another Magistus (usually Spenta) or Ninaruru to pop a backrow card—which is clutch in the mirror match.
  • Added Layers of Disruption: Mechaba, Aiwass, and Zoroa provide extra layers of protection. Aiwass’s snatch-steal and negation effect is extremely powerful when timed correctly.

Overall, I’d recommend bumping Keto and Spenta up by an extra copy

Replays

I've uploaded 5 replays to my profile. I highly recommend watching the one against Maliss; it perfectly showcases how crucial Magical Meltdown is against that type of strategy. 689-790-323
