Notes & Combos

Winning the Deck Master Cup then making top 4 in the next, I'm kinda the goat ngl.

With the new format comes a lot of changes to the non-engine, Maxx "C" is at 1, so I cut Ash to 1, also helps that Dracotail has been pushed out of best deck status so Ash is just a weaker card in general.

I've ended up on 3 Talents mainly because of Droll, and also the Raigeki I was running in the DMC just felt bad into Dracotail and going first. I've also bumped up Ritual to 3 to see it more often into VSK9, and I'm on a Manju instead of a second Aramasa or Lamia, because it can search Ritual, and it didn't really come up at all, but I'll continue to test it. As a result I'm up to 53 cards because I couldn't bring myself to cut anything. I've also cut Phoenix for Azalea, I wanted to be able to hit Monsters as well as Spell/Traps, and with the K9 engine's tendency to take cards out of hand, I didn't want to have to discard for it, as well, Azalea going to GY if I don't have enough Spells really doesn't matter, as most of time I summoned Phoenix it died any way.

The VSK9 matchup is overall quite good, the Mitsurugi engine and Breakers are just strong into the board, as well their turn 0 plays aren't that good into the Ogdoadic and the Mitsurugi engine.

W:P has been pretty good, it has helped make my Fuwa half boards better and as well just increase the ceiling of the combo, with W:P' inclusion I've opted to start making S:P earlier in my combo when I can, as now I don't lose out on disruption and get to protect my board better from end of main handtraps. Though I am kind of annoyed because I submitted my update to the Ogdoadic guide the day before the new set.

All in all, the deck is as good as ever, though with the uptick in Droll, it can be frustrating. Though positively there's been a lot of Purulia's going around, and that's a card this deck plays pretty great into. I don't get to do my full combo very often, in the DMC on the 7-8th I did my full combo once, I don't do it often on ladder either.
