I decided to try Micro Coder + Conflict. I played a build with 19 handtraps this time so I could avoid saying including Micro Coder took away from non-engine. To access Micro Coder, I would search it with Backup so it was almost guaranteed each game.

I believe the card performed just fine since there are Red Reboots and Droplets that regular boards cannot interact with. The board (Desavewurm + Superfactorial + Allied Code + Heatsoul + Conflict) is almost strong enough to consider removing Terahertz send Desavewurm. Part of this is because Terahertz Desavewurm requires additional extenders if I prioritize Conflict. There are many games where I do not end on Desavewurm negate if there are handtraps involved. Cutting Desavewurm could also free up an ED spot for Link Spider.

Playing Conflict has its downsides. I already do not value Superfactorial as a draw, and Conflict is making that issue worse. Micro Coder is also a subpar extender when drawn, only benefitting when you can get to Wicckid after having already triggered Wicckid with other extenders. If I have committed to Micro Coder, I will definitely not to commit to similar quality cards such as Multiplication, Equation, or Code of Soul. Overall, Conflict is strong enough to offset the poor draw quality.

Matchup Breakdown in Total (124 Duels; 73 Heads, 51 Tails)

Due to Tenpai/Striker/Mikanko influence: 75 1st, 51 2nd

  • 25 Vanquish Soul (20.2%, W/R = 44%)
  • 17 Odion (13.7%, W/R = 64%)
  • 13 Dracotail (10.5%, W/R = 46%)
  • 12 Mitsurugi (9.9%, W/R = 58%)

Honorable Mentions: 9 Yummy, 5 Tearlament, 4 Live Twin

Vanquish Soul is a difficult matchup and I'm still not sure how to approach it. The pain point is Ripper with Lupus attached to prevent targeting - this shuts out Imperm + Nib as a punish. I was thinking about Gamma to deal with Ripper since she does not destroy and Gamma is not OPT. I treat Imperm as a way to choke out the VS engine (NS Mad Love / Razen or Rock) without risking K9 engine. Droll also feels strong into this situation as well.

Izuna on my turn has not been an issue as long as you are conscious of it. The card only represents one removal on your turn so as long as you can field 2 bodies under Izuna, your Ignister engine is still intact.
