Notes & Combos

Welcome to a new format of Master Duel. The format where I win and you lose. It's that simple. Unless of course we play a mirror match, then it's a very interesting, interactive and skillful mirror match where the better player actually wins (with a bit of luck, can't go without that). Anyway, this is a different approach from all you have seen before. I am not doing full synchro lines, as you never touch them vs handtraps, but i am still playing 1 copy of Savage in case 2c combo actually goes uniterrupted. You are probably noticing that my deck doesn't have called or crossout. Yes, I don't play more minigame outs, besides droll and ash. Why? For 3 reasons. One: those cards are not good going second cards at all. Two: if you didn't understand it yet, we are in "double-handtrap" format. It's a format where unless you open 2 different handtraps, you are probably dead lost. The only way for the deck to beat 2 handtraps is 4c combo: Ash, Wanted/Diabel, Called by/Crossout and a card to discard. In the end you also end on just 1 card left in your hand, which is really mediocre (normal Heatsoul lines gous to 7 cards in hand). Three: this deck has a "Mo Ye" treatment of a play vs Maxx C: "Normal Ash, add Poplar, special Poplar (chain Maxx C, draw 1), Poplar adds Temple, Temple places Flamberge in S/T, Ash + Poplar into IP (draw 2), Poplar places itself in S/T, pass. During opponent's turn Temple specials Flamberge, Flamberge specials Poplar, then IP can make 2400 Apollousa, then Flamberge triggers to reborn both Ash and Poplar to then adds 2 more cards to your hand: Original and Ash. So it's fine to let your opponent to draw 2, as we will just go +6 or something. My turn 1 setup from 1 Ash is Heatsoul, IP, Princess, 7 in hand. My turn 1 board from Ash + Diabel is same as 1c Ash combo + Borrel Savage and 5-6 in hand. I really both liked Zealantis and Accescode together, Accesscode felt like a bait finisher, and Zealantis was the real finisher. Only cards that i am unsure about are Subversion (I played 3 TTT before) and Anima Anima is only useful vs Mathmech, good players never play into Anima zone, and you can easily deal with Nib token as well. Subversion was good in theory, i think this card is really good against branded and in mirror match (not always), but maybe hard drawing it feels pretty weak. Other options are Prosperity (didn't like how it performed going second), 3rd TTT, 3rd Nib, 3rd Original and 2nd Temple.
