Master 1 50 Card Millennium Exodia

I wanted to share the list + some thoughts.

After a lot of testing, I ended up sticking with a 50 card build instead of going close to 40. With the amount of bricks the deck is forced to run, I found 40 to be too bricky, and going up to 60 just doesn’t have the card quality to support it. This felt consistent overall.

The current meta is rough. K9 Izuna can completely disrupt your game since most of your monsters activate in hand or graveyard. If you open Wedju Temple, it’s often better to start with that to avoid giving Izuna a chance to interact. Against Kewl Tune, the matchup can be manageable if you open Gaia and they don’t have Tune Clip, but otherwise it’s pretty tough. Even then, Ty-Phon can sometimes buy you a few turns, and you can set up Gaia and steal a win.

Going second feels rough most of the time. That’s partly a Master Duel issue, but this deck especially needs to force a weaker board to compete. I’m running 18 hand traps, and ideally you want to open at least two alongside two starters.

I tried different versions, including Odion variants, but right now they don’t feel as strong mainly because of the reliance on Azurune Trap vs Kewl Tune and how Gaia competes for your normal summon.

The deck can still perform if you manage your lines and play around some baits. I try to hide that I’m on Exodia for as long as possible if I don’t open Gaia.

It might sound small, but things like using Galatea as a mate and Orcust as sleeve can create a bit of psychological pressure since Millennium can look like an Orcust engine. It can make opponents hesitate, misread or rage quit.

Fiendsmith can still steal games by pushing 9k+ damage in a combo I’m still testing and adjusting things, especially TTT, Gaia, and Sanct.

This feels like a stable version for now, but I’m considering adding a second Gaia or replacing Sanct with another Track.

Curious to hear if anyone else has had success with different ratios or variants.
