Notes & Combos

Context

This is just a deck I threw together with what I had in my collection. I crafted nothing to make this and you probably should not either (unless it's a staple or you want to build a wind-up engine). I played this until 5500 points in the 3-4 hours following the start of the event.

Gameplay Considerations

  • Endboard is typically Decode Talker in EMZ pointing to two fodder (e.g. Giant Hand), Giant Hand, Redoer (preferably made with the PK trap), your choice of rank 3 (Cicada for monster negate, Zenmaines/Jaja for board resiliency).
  • Consider making Decode Talker with 3 materials (Zenmaintenance and 2 xyz) in order to free up board space taken by used up xyz monsters like Daigusto and Zenmaity.
  • If you cannot make Redoer with the PK trap, consider banishing it until next turn to free up board space.
  • Basic Wind-Up combo lines are best learned elsewhere. I will assume you know them already.
  • Be careful of PK Break Sword's reborn effect locking you to dark. Though, you can still link climb into Decode and Accesscode.

Deckbuilding Choices

  • Most of the cards were added to get the deck to 40 cards as most staples are banned in the event.
  • Phantom Knights have moderate synergy with Wind-Ups as they are both 3-axis decks. Brigandine is an amazing material for Redoer.
  • The spell choices are questionable and lower the consistency of Gallis, but they fill deck slots and are quite independently powerful. Consider running more board breakers like dark hole if you cut Gallis.
  • Extra deck is very flexible and entirely up to your preference/collection. Firewall/Tri-Gate Wizard set-ups are probably even better.
  • Bardiche never came up, so feel free to cut it for a toolbox ED monster.
  • Jaja is a great way to out destruction-protected/recursive cards.
  • The 1-of dinowrestler and Naturia beast is mostly a meme. I summoned Naturia Beast in two games though and both times the opponent instantly scooped.
