Notes & Combos

I used Snake-Eye Fire King for my climb to DLV.MAX last March. And I'm pleased to say it still holds up even after a year of power creep. I wasn't originally planning to play this deck, but I was struggling to find a something that was strong enough to compete in this meta; while not being so strong that my opponents would immediately forfeit if they couldn't completely stop my combo. (I like actually playing the game) I went through Mimighoul Yummy, Mitsurugi Ryzeal, Radiant Typhoon, and Branded. But this ended up being the deck that met my needs best.

To get it out of the way: no, I did not deliberately omit Called by the Grave from the deck. This is the exact list I used for the climb, I just forgot to put it in when I made the deck. Play it instead of Talent, the deck will be better for it. Although Talent did serve me well.

For non-engine, I didn't want to play Droll because it does basically nothing to Dracotail. You can play it instead of Purulia if you prefer, but I feel that leaving it out was the right call. Ghost Belle performed okay, but I don't feel it was better than Imperm or even Red Reboot would have been. Dominus Impulse is the main reason to play this deck over Snake-Eye Fiendsmith (other than SEFK being more fun) and it was 100% worth it.

My extra deck choices were not as good. I never used Knightmare Phoenix, Underworld Goddess, or Typhon. Zombie Vampire, Raging Phoenix, and Zealantis are good in theory, but they never came up in my games. The rest of the cards I would consider to be mandatory.

In the end, it's still the same old Snake-Eye Fire king. I went 15/6 from DLV.17 to 20, with a 100% winrate going first. Although I will say, my opponents felt more prone to misplay than usual, so an actual master rank climb might be more difficult. Either way, thank you very much for taking the time to read my thoughts. And if you have any questions at all about the deck, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm always happy to respond.
