Notes & Combos

As the recursive queen of history, Raye, climbed up the DC levels, she faced against the recursive queen of today, Diabellestar. After Raye used the technique Infinite Impermanence to negate Poplar, Diabellestar finished an endboard with Imperm and Silvera and asked Raye,

"Did you Imperm me because you have a play next turn? Or do you have a play next turn because you Imperm'd me?"

Raye began her turn and used

Domain Expansion: Lightning Storm.

However Lightning Storm is a face-up effect on the field that can be negated with Silvera, and Diabellstar simply stated:

"Stand Proud Raye, You're Strong, but Nah, I'd Win."

Raye's domain crumbled, and Diabellstar thought she won the duel, but she didn't know two key things:

The first is that going-2nd decks run multiple board breaking cards

And the second: In simplified game states, Always bet on Kagari

In that moment, Raye used the cursed technique, Evenly Matched, banishing almost the entirety of Diabellstar's field. In her dying moments, Diabellstar attempted to Imperm Shizuku and Normal Summon Ash, but Throughout the Graveyard and Earth, Raye alone is the honored one. Raye uttered the phrase,

"With this Treasure I Summon, Mecha Module Widow Anchor."

Diabellestar, who inherited the gift of recursion...the one who held a grasp on the modern metagame...she would bear witness...to the negated flesh of the one who is free. To the Ash who left their side of the field behind, and Raye's overwhelming searchability!

Actual Notes:
  • In all seriousness, I rarely had trouble with the Snake Eye MU. Imperm/Veiler really throws them off, and entering a simplified board state where you can recur Widow Anchor is a wincon
  • Extra deck doesn't really matter outside of at least 3x Kagari Shizuki, 2x Hayate, 1x Kaina, 1x Zeke.
  • Accesscode came up maybe once, Almiraj is to prevent bricking if you open Linkage plus a bunch of handtraps (this happened to me more than once lmao), Hiita never came up (I think Dharc might be better tbh since Snake Eye runs IP)
  • I'm F2P so I didn't really feel inclined to optimize the going-second cards, but realistically I do like the logic of playing a critical mass of "good" going second cards with different names so that you don't get thrown off by HOPT effects (fun fact: I pulled Change of Heart from a pack lol)
  • Herald is super underrated, in practice it's a spell card Kaiju
  • Added Jamming Waves because I hate the Lab MU :(
