Notes & Combos
A few days ago on ladder I ran into someone using an Ishizu Spright deck that was basically Justinian's build for Main Phase 2 #12 minus the Trickstar engine and plus a couple things like Shinobi Necro. It seemed decently good so I'm trying my own attempt for the Duelist Cup 1st stage. After playing it for a bit, it seems like pure Spright but extremely cope. I could just be a bad cook, but it's still Spright so it turned out fine lol.
The bread and butter combo is still basically just do Spright things. If I can get the usual Spright pieces in play thanks to Blue or Jet in hand - and Diviner isn't yet in rotation - I usually summon her off Gigantic Spright to dump an Ishizu 5-miller to help load up the graveyard. She also then gives Jet an option to pop a card by reviving during the opponent's turn -> pitch N'tss.
If Diviner is my normal summon with Spright(s) in hand, her level modulation makes her not Spright Approved™. Sending Trias Hierarchia to GY to then tribute her gets 2 materials on board: Trias + whatever Diviner special summons for being tributed, including the level 2 heralds. Then it's Spright as usual with one extra material, which is something at least. When drawn, Trias is also handy for allowing Diviner to dodge Imperm/Veiler which has come up for me more than I expected. 2 tuner+9 is also an option to make Psychic End Punisher which I quite like.
Stein -> Exterio is my 4fun addition. In a mill deck that uses Jet, it's just too tempting. They've held their weight just fine. I've no particular complaints.
As for removals, like the ladder person I was inspired by, I'm not running the Trickstar package of 2 Light Stage + Lilybell. Partly because I didn't want to craft 2 Light Stage and partly because I didn't want to copycat quite that hard when I picked up the deck and never got around to revisiting. As a consequence, Chaos Ruler is much harder to access since the most straightforward way is a normal summoned Diviner @lv6 after dumping an Ishizu + a special summoned level 2, which usually involves Lilybell. Still makeable but arguably cuttable here.
Likewise for Saryuja and Dugares. Fewer special extenders make them less appealing. It's also why partly why I've already cut World Soul - Carbon since it eats the normal summon. (he also offers some chain blocking, but ehhh)
As for additions, I went with staples: Triple Tactics Talents + Called By The Grave. Called By on a milled name is quite funny beyond just the usual applications.
