Virtual World

Duel Triangle Fusion/Synchro/Xyz from on April 18th, 2024
cp-ur 450 + cp-sr 510
40 cards

Notes & Combos

virtual world is a decent choice for the event. it's definitely one of the best synchro decks you can bring (though if you truly care about winning, you'd be playing tearlament, purrely, or chimera illusion).

***

the main deck is straightforward: without maxx c, there's no point in playing called by, so you'll want to find a good balance between hand trap count and consistency options. i think that balance is possible with 3 small world / 1 desires + 2 small world alongside 11 hand trap spots.

nibiru crushes xyz decks but can be mediocre against fusion decks, so feel free to swap that out for another hand trap as you deem fit. do keep the holy trinity of gamma + ash + imperm, as they are too useful across the meta to drop.

***

the extra deck is where it gets much more awkward. the level 6/9 synchro card pool is all-around mediocre, so you might find it difficult to power through the event's three meta contenders if you don't have the UR cards in this list already available.

so, here's a list of extra deck options to help you decide what to play (and whether you even want to bother with virtual world at all here)...

  • strictly required: shenshen, jiujiu, tzolkin + crystal, stardust charge, coral dragon, vermillion.

  • optimal to play but not required: mudragon + hot red, wolfrayet, malong + baronne.

  • optional: hyper psychic riser, dragite, navy dragon mech

  • potential swap candidates: red wyvern, metaphys horus, vulcan the divine, trishula, crocodragon + transcendo / final sigma

*** some notes about these choices

  • crystal wing is deemed essential because you will auto-lose to nibiru without it.
  • use coral dragon to set up a level 6 tuner to make tzolkin without having to use laolao or chuche's GY effect first.
  • making hot red + crystal wing is the best board for the event by far because your opponent will be unable to board break with super polymerization until they commit a DARK or WIND to the field first, which you can punish with chuche.
  • given the low-ish power of decks in this event, wolfrayet's effect has a reasonable chance of being live against your opponent's attempt to setup a board.
  • malong + baronne is one of the best turn 2 / follow-up plays available to the deck. malong outs dinomorphia monsters without triggering their follow-up GY effects!
  • crocodragon and transcendosaurus are great if you're on a budget build. croco draws you a card, transcendo turns croco into a 3600 ATK beatstick!
