Notes & Combos
Nemleria Regenesis
Lower-powered format, so it’s time to play my favorite bad deck again and this time with the Regenesis Engine. I trimmed the deck down to a clean 40 cards to improve my chances of seeing a way to get Nemleria into the Extra Deck and set up my Regenesis cards.
So why mesh these two archetypes together?
-
Besides Cake Monster, all Level 10 Nemleria monsters have 2500 ATK and/or DEF
-
Both archetypes don’t care about the Extra Deck lock
-
Both prefer to play a slower, grindier game
-
The Regenesis Spell can search Reveil if you already have a Regenesis monster on the field.
-> It’s not the full Nemleria combo, but that line can still fetch a Nemleria Trap if you have a discard, which raises your end-board ceiling and helps get Nemleria into your Extra Deck. (Yes, I’m coping - I know.)
I like running the deck with board breakers instead of hand traps (Gordian Slicer is just so good), though I still prefer to go first to set up Nemleria in the Extra. Not running Eater of Millions makes summoning Nemleria going second a lot harder, but the Regenesis cards add so much value that it is worth it.
The Extra Deck almost never matters, get some Rank 10 in there and a way to link Nemleria off. Gustav Max into Liebe gives you a clean OTK line if the stars align, but honestly, I haven’t summoned from my Extra Deck even once so far.
So why play it in this event ? Well Orcust is everywhere and banishing their cards face-down just wins the game. Tbf same goes for a lot of decks; resolving Nemleria normally ends the game on the spot.
The deck feels great. I have only lost one game so far and that was to a disconnect (Servers have been very unstable for me, anyone else having the same problem ?)
