Notes & Combos
Blazing Cartesia and Granguignol have made Branded the best route to play Buster Blader!
I have to address the biggest reason the deck is now more competative this season, and going forward, is the limits to the Ishizu shufflers. Tearlaments now only have 2 opportunites to alter the graveyard in a grind match-up. Then, the addition of Cartesia helps you dodge targeting effect such as sulliek, imperm, and effect veiler.
An ideal hand would consist of 3 cards, Branded Fusion, Aluber, and Prolouge of the destruction Swordsman, this will end in a board of Mirrorjade, Branded in red, Aluber, and a set Prolouge.
On the opponents turn, you can activate Prolouge to send Buster Blader and Destruction Sword Memories as cost, then on the same chain, if you haven't already sent a dragon as cost through Mirrorjade you will need to activate Mirrorjade on the same chain to send a Dragon fusion as cost, activate destruction sword memories to Fusion Summon the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman which will complete the "Buster Lock" and it will all resolve on 1 chain.
Reasons why I do not play Branded Beast and Forbidden Droplet is due to the card economy, the Branded Engine and the Buster Lock are so effective by themselves that losing essential cards as cost and hard drawing bricks make the deck less fluid.
Cards that help you win more are Fusion Deployment, Called By the Grave, Branded in Red, and Branded Retribution. Having a way to eat the Ash or use the quick effects to dodge targeting effects have elevated the power level of this deck.
