Notes & Combos

Hey Everyone! I'm super happy to share with you this deck profile. For a while I've been struggling to stay interested in yugioh simply because of how busted turn 1 multi omni negate decks are. However, I have to say, this deck really peaked my interest. It reminded me of old school Light and Darkness Dragons back in boomer yugioh in terms of power and control.

In regards to the deck itself. I think Adventure/Despia is the best version to play in ladder given all the hand traps that are being played. For what I saw and experienced most people are playing something approximate to

3x Ash 3x Maxx C 2-3x Imperm 2-3x Effect Veiler 1x Nibiru

This represents 11 hand traps at minimum, which means your opponent will regularly have 1-2 hand traps per hand.

It's with this logic that I chose to use a compact 40 card build in order to draw the adventure engine as well as my copies of called by and designator as much as possible. Overall, I think Patchwork Despia with Allure of Darkness is the most powerful version of branded despia since polymerization can really help it push to get those otk and oppressive turn 1 boards. However, I believe this build is very consistent, it plays around hand traps very well and the adventure engine eats up ash blossoms pretty consistently which is the most problematic hand trap by far. I personally used 2 aquamancers during my climb in ladder. However, I switched her for prosperity in order to show a viable post ban list build

Good luck!
