Notes & Combos

I think this is the most comfortable version of Tears I've ever played.

I chose not to play Winda/Cyber Stein + Exterio/Gravekeeper's Trap because I don't think Tears need those to win (both mirrrors and different matchups) and you're just adding unnecessary bricks in the deck.

Some of my deck options and personal opinions:

  • Snow: Insane card. Level 4 body + extra layer of interruptions. Must play
  • Ash: I see a lot of Tears decks not playing this card and opt for TTT instead. Most of the time you will just use TTT for the second effect (Look at your opponent's hand and shuffle back one card) and I feel like it pales in comparison with the value of Ash. A lot of different matchups you can effectively use Ash on: Terraforming, Reinoheart, Robina, any Spright extenders. You will be surprised by the number of opponents just pass their turn after getting their Reinoheart Ashed.
  • Crossout Designator: Good card in general, can come in clutch sometimes. Works against any deck to negate handtraps or mirror Tears.
  • Heartbeat: Slot used to be Harpie's Feather Duster but there are too many Tear mirrors and Harpie just becomes a dead card. Putting in Heartbeat is the best decision I've ever made to climb straight from D3 to D1 with very few losses. I never realized how much value this card brings. Can shuffle back floodgates, Sulliek, and can get your Cryme/Sulliek back from GY if you accidentally mill them. Very good in Bo1 matches.
  • Zoodiac engine: Thank you Jesse Kotton. Can bail you out in a lot of situations. Used to be Diviner + Baronne package but like Harpie, Diviner is bad against mirrors. You almost always want to summon Elf instead of Baronne. Baronne is just win-more.

I tested ROTA, Foolish Burial Goods and Diviner but as I stated above, deck's already consistent enough so I wanna keep the deck near 40 cards as close as possible to have more quality mills.

Take my personal opinions with a grain of salt, play whatever you want, then fine-tune it to suit your preference the most.

One final piece of advice: Don't just press shiny button. Learn to chain block. Play around your shufflers and millers wisely.
