Notes & Combos

This deck is primarily designed on going first, but it's far from being dead in the water if it goes second. With that being said:

  • Changes from last season: +1 Red Reboot, +1 Lightning Storm, +1 Pankratops, -1 Gozen, -1 Imperm
  • Red Reboot is there specifically for swso blackout. If all it did was target monsters, this wouldn't be as big a problem thanks to Teacher. However, the fact that it can hit our facedown backrow (which Sistart does not protect) means our negate/disruption count is that much weaker. It doesn't come up too often but when it does, it's insanely clutch.
  • Lightning Storm is only consistently usable on T2 and it's very hard to use it past that (kinda rare for us since we usually have our cont spells active by then). Despite that, it's still a versatile Raigeki/HFD rolled in one and is a fine follow up to HFD if that ends up getting negated and you really need some backrow removal.
  • Pankratops was a card I didn't expect to see huge mileage from. It's an Earth monster so we can play it under Gozen, it's fairly easy to SS, and we can easily get this out before we lock ourself in with Petting. Most importantly, we can choose to recycle this with Chateau if we so choose to, which is a benefit few decks can enjoy.
  • Gozen either wins you games or it does absolutely nothing. The decks I faced all shared the same attribute so it ended up being the latter. I took out one copy to make room for other cards. I could've been unlucky though so YMMV.
