Notes & Combos

DO NOT PLAY THIS DECK PLS - NOT MUCH THOUGHT WENT INTO IT

If you ignored my warning, I will only say that I did not even really create a gameplan for this deck. Going first, I go for some amalgam of Ruler, Apollousa or something with Diviner, Apo and more. Oddly enough, it is still sufficient most of the time. Going second, it is like 75% Natasha into all kinds of stuff like Borrelsword, 5-10% Zeus and the rest is you trying to somehow simplfy the board and then shut your opponent off with cards like Vanity's Ruler - or you stalling for your OTK next turn by making Fucho.

Some notes:

  • Run proper tech cards. I lack many staples, so I cannot do that (I do not wanna waste UR mats on those).
  • Grass got less good - not just because of the semi-limit. It might be time to play a smaller deck again if things do not change.
  • TTT is kinda doodoo sometimes, but it still has some games where it is really nice. Tough for me to cut it just yet, but it might be a good idea.
  • Slayer is such a polarizing card. It sucks so much sometimes and other times, it can be insane. I would have maybe tried cutting it in a perfect world, where everyone plays optimally and where I have every possible alternative. Adding the Twin brick package made the card much better in this season (I only own 2 copies of Slayer), because Mathmech players luckily do not always consider the immediate future after Slayer. It is nice that the card is good vs Despia and Swordsoul, too.
  • Amorphactor Pain best card ngl - ok, I am somewhat kidding, but it is funny to see Mathmech players react to me adding it off of Alpha/Arc Light. They more often than not shotgun their Superfactorial getting lower value than they could have, and I never planned on summoning Pain anyway. For that alone, Pain gets a Tylenol/10 score. Bonus points for being kinda strong vs Despia when boosted with Idaten (it happened twice more often than I expected it to happen).
  • MICHAEL? Michael.
  • I swap Lyna with Dharc? -> I always face Swordsoul. I put in Dharc again? -> I never see a deck that summons DARK monsters again. You know what? Maybe I should run Dharc again...
  • I deadass missed something like a Knightmare Cerberus. I wanted a monster removal ED monster too often this season, so I maybe should add one such monster.
  • Quadrantids > Draconids still, but the gap got closer again this season. An early Quad is so good against backrow decks like Runick or Labrynth.

Usually you can find replays of my decks on my YouTube channel: invalid url

However, I will not upload too many, if any, videos for a while. Still, you can get a feel for Drytron (or Drytron Megalith) by watching those videos.
