Notes & Combos

Unintentionally getting closer to submitting a deck for each element for this event. Fought a Windwitch burn player a couple days ago and thought it might be fun to try Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon turbo for this event too. For those new to this deck, the bread-and-butter of the deck is to special summon Ice Bell -> SS Glass Bell -> SS Snow Bell -> make a lv 7 Synchro -> make Crystal Wing that's immune to effect destruction due to Snow Bell.

I got submittable sprees on a couple different builds but this is the latest one I'm also happiest with. My going-first variant basically arrived at this, but swap Evenly + Droplets + Lightning Storm for Windwitch Chimes + Imperm + Ghost Mourner. Since I was running going second concessions like Pankratops, Grand Mole, and most importantly Gadarla, I eventually realized that commiting toward going second was probably a good idea and not just familiarity bias.

Besides the Windwitches, Gadarla + Small World is the lynchpin of this build. Wynn the Wind Channeller is a -1 if she gets Ashed compared to Small World's 1-for-1, so enabling it to search Ice Bell was my priority:

As can be seen, Gadarla can be used a bridge from any of the Witches/Maxx C (/Wynn as Ash bait) to Ice Bell. Hop Ear serves a similar purpose and was added when I wanted a bridge between Gadarla and Ice Bell too. Being able to tag out Crystal Wing to Baronne for another negate/dodging removal, and then tag back in to Crystal Wing with Baronne's standby effect was quite nice. I might up the ratio if I revisit going first.

Grand Mole was an addition to bridge between Ash and Ice Bell and decently justifies its own spot when going second: the Windwitch combo when uninterrupted doesn't use the normal summon, so Grand Mole can be used as an additional nontargeting bounce including recycling my own Gadarla.

Pankratops was added for at least some kind of searchable backrow removal in contrast to Gadarla and just a generally good blind second option to have available.

I don't run Windwitch Chimes because its 2-card combo is more specific than Wynn, who also counts as a monster for Small World if I already drew Ice Bell.

Extra Deck besides the 2x copy monsters + the Windwitches barely mattered and even then the extra copies rarely came up. Chanbara made with Snow+Freeze Bell can be a funny solo if the opponent lacks nondestruction removal.
