This is a Dogmatika Guide written by Yenaer which will cover the core cards, variants and deck lists and the future of the archetype.

Dogmatika, debuted 6 years ago in Rise of the Duelist, the Dogmatika archetype or what I like to call them "Branded weird older sibling" gimmick revolves around the extra deck, specifically revolving around milling ours or the enemy's extra deck for value or to mess with them respectively.

While mostly played as an engine 99% of the time, the archetype is still very good at doing it's job as a supplement to other archetypes.

Core cards:

ALL EFFECTS ARE ONE PER TURN UNLESS SPECIFIED

We will go over the core maindeck cards, the cards that you will see in every Dogmatika variants moving forward. Any not mentioned here are either unused or are niche to their own specific variant which we will go over later. Starting with....

Fallen of the White Dragon

Ironically we aren't gonna start with a Dogmatika named card, Loading... is the most important inclusion to the archetype out of all of the new cards released as he's our strongest starter.

  1. By sending any extra deck monster that mentions Loading... as a COST, he can special summon himself. Doing this will lock you out of summoning anything but level 8 Synchro and Fusion from the extra deck for the rest of this turn
  2. And on summon he can special summons any "Ecclesia" monster from the deck/hand/GY.

The effect of sending an extra deck monster as a cost is already powerful enough, his ability to special summon any "Ecclesia" monster is what will let you have access to the entire archetype starting with....

Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous

Starting with the girl who started it all, and one of the two target that get summoned by Loading... .

  1. On summon she will search any Dogmatika card from the deck. Doing so will lock you out of summoning from extra deck for the rest of the turn
  2. If there is any extra deck monster sitting on the board she can special summons herself from the hand.
  3. One of the more forgotten effect is that she has battle immunity against extra deck monsters.

While she had been historically the archetype main searcher and was always played at 3 copies. Due to the lock that exist after you search she has become less and less reliable as a starter and usually will be summoned by other cards effect like Loading... , Loading... and Loading... .

Even then she is not the main summon target of Loading... , that would be....

Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous

Yet another non Dogmatika named card, while isn't searchable through conventional means in the archetype despite bearing the Ecclesia name, she functions as our second strongest starter due to her ability to fetch into Loading... .

  1. If you opponent controls more monsters than you do, you can special summon her from the hand (this is an inherent summon as oppose to Loading... ).
  2. As a quick effect she can tag herself out to summon a Loading... .
  3. In the endphase she can be returned from the GY back to the hand if a fusion monster has been sent to the GY this turn.

Her second effect makes her the most flexible card in the deck due to her ability to access Loading... :

  • By tagging out for Loading... and then resummoning her back with his effect. You can start doing synchro plays by summoning Loading... or Loading... , whom will let you have access to pretty much the rest of the deck.
  • And by proxy she can also search any Dogmatika card since you can use Loading... 's effect to summon Loading... instead.
  • And thirdly she can also tag out for the OG Loading... as a form of disruption if you just sit on her instead.

Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted

Even after 6 years and through 4 waves of supports, Loading... is the archetype only relevant boss monster.

  1. Just like her sister, if there's an extra deck monster sitting on the board she can be special summoned from the hand.
  2. After her first effect if you control Dogmatika monster she can negate one face-up monster your opponent control.
  3. If you attack with any Dogmatika monster you can boost the effect of all Dogmatika monster you control by 500.

As a non-targeted monstter negate, Loading... is still this archetype strongest interaction. Her battle effect can help you deal with annoying monsters and helps you OTk and she can is easily accessible through Loading... , Loading... or Loading... .

The Fallen & The Virtuous

Hey did you know this is also a Dogmatika card.

  1. You can send any extra deck monster that mentions Loading... to destroy a face-up card.
  2. If you you have an "Ecclesia on field or GY this card can act as a Quick-Play Loading... .

This is one of the most powerful card in the archetype that it has became a staple for other decks to run. And the card is easily accessible through Loading... and Loading... .

The card does it all:

  • By sending any extra deck monster that mentions Loading... to the grave, this alone give you a lot of flexibility in what you wanna do due to the immense power of those card's GY effect.
  • As an interaction, it can disrupt the opponent through the destruction effect or sometimes even the revival effect.
  • And through the revival effect, the card gives you unparalleled level of grind and recursion for later in the game.

Nadir Servant
Nadir Servant

Prior to Loading... , Loading... had been the archetype's ace card that pretty much does everything you want it to do.

  1. By sending ANY extra deck monster to the GY you can search any Dogmatika card from the deck with ATK equal or lower than the monster you sent. Doing this will lock you out of summoning from the extra deck for the rest of the turn

Due to the advent of Loading... , Loading... and the hard lock on the card, Loading... 's value of being a starter has began to dwindle in recent times. While the card is still a powerful searcher that can send ANY extra deck monster to the GY, it now has been relegated to some sort of a Plan B if your main plays fail like Loading... .

Dogmatika Punishment
Dogmatika Punishment

The only good trap from the archetype even after over half a decade.

  1. By targeting a monster your opponent controls, you can send ANY extra deck monster to the GY with equal or lower ATK than the targeted monster to destroy it. Doing this will lock you out of summoning from the extra deck until the end of your next turn

Due to this card hard locking you for effectively two whole turns, Loading... has been the most badly aged card in the archetype and has been effectively replaced by Loading... . Even so, due to the fact that Loading... can be set via Loading... you can still run the card as something to search with Loading... .

Addressing the elephant in the room

Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Thunderbolt

This is not a good support and her problem lies in 3 core issues

  • She has too many restriction to activate for a handtrap (there MUST be an extra deck monster on the board for her to be summoned and set the trap, and your opponent MUST control a 2500 Atk or highter extra deck monster for the trap to be activated the turn it was set).
  • She can ONLY set traps and ONLY from the deck making her incredibly weak in grind because she would do absolutely nothing after the first time she procs. And before you ask "why don't we play more traps" that is the next problem.
  • The Dogmatika archetype doesn't have good traps, Loading... is the best option but using this as a turn 0 play will lock your ED for your next turn making her incredibly weak as splash to most other decks.

In conclusion Loading... is only realistically playable in a handful of relevant archetypes which either doesnt care or can play decently well without about the ED or decks that care about her stats.

Dogmatika Lawbringer
Dogmatika Lawbringer

Unlike Loading... , he was a decent support but just at the worst possible circumstances.

His effect of special summoning when there's an extra deck monster on board then forces both players to send 1 of their extra deck monster to the GY give you back a Dogmatika card from the Gy when he's sent is really nice....If half the format doesn't go insanely plus off a single mill and it will become worse and worse when the Shaddoll supports or Loading... arrives.

Overall he is still playable as a rank 8 turbo because he can be searched off Loading... and special summon himself for two 8's.
