Notes & Combos

Been incredibly busy this month and barely had the time to play. I was free for the weekend so i took the saturday to get to M5. This winstreak is the first 5 games i've played since reaching master, so i thought i'd post the decklist before getting to M1, cause it's kinda interesting.

I think the branded package is more of a fun than a "good" way to play this deck. I used it for 2 main reasons. The 1st reason is because i needed a reliable way to bait out ash blossom so my fire king island search can go through, and which card is better used as an ash bait than the most ashed card in the history of YGO. The 2nd reason is being able to effectively search new garunix without adding it to hand, thus bypassing droll which everyone plays now that Mitsurugi is out.

You mostly don't care about being fusion locked by branded fusion because you can play on turn 1 without going into the extra deck. Albaz is a necessary brick in this deck, so i took out barong for now so i can stay on just 2 bricks.

The idea is you use branded fusion to summon rindbrumm by sending albaz and new garunix. This effectively searches garunix, while not triggering droll. After this you keep playing with your fire king cards. Ideally ponix 1CC or sanctuary/ulkanix+any fire king.

The rindbrumm then provides you with a bunch of extra disruption, being able to negate an extra deck monster effect. After it gets to grave though hyang destroying it, it can revive albaz to fuse into mirrorjade either directly or though albion/lubellion and then you have a mirrorjade non-target banish.

The non-engine is slightly adapted from last month. I added droll becasue of mitsu, and bystials as well for both mitsu and orcust. The bystials are nice as an extra body allowing you to extend into hiita/dharc.

Really miss the lancea especially against called by on garunix, but we just can't afford to play it rn. For the maliss matchup the deck is definitely weaker in terms of going 2nd, but then again maliss bricks so often or gets stopped by much less now that they recieved consistency hits.

Droll can feel like a bit of a hinderance when used on opponent's turn as you can't search follow up with ulkanix and ponix. It definitely has way less synergy with fire kings than lancea.
