Notes & Combos

Went from level 10? to 20 while only deranking once in level 19.

From 10 to 17, I was using a more traditional Dominus build with 3 Fenrir. It was working fine, but you'll never shake the inherent issues such as opening too many of the same handtrap, too many Traptrix names, having a monster handtrap with Songs in hand, Songs being unreliable thanks to Ash, only having Spiral, etc etc.

Once I hit 17, I copied the list that Fear has been running with a few changes (the Solemns primarily). It was doing well enough; however, once I hit 19, it was meta threat on meta threat constantly. Hit a bad 4 game loss streak and deranked to 18. While playing, I did remove Shifter (I kept opening it solely against Enneacraft) and replaced it with D Barrier. I also removed 1 Fenrir (I originally was running 41 cards) since it kept being dead against Enneacraft as well (they always opened PIXEA).

Was trying to get to 20 before stage 2 started, but things weren't going the best for me (I did also only start to "grind" a little late into things). Was luckily able to go from 18 to 20 during the first day of stage 2, though.

There is definitely some power in opening Barrage or Rat and having them go off without Fuwa/Maxx coming down, but Traptrix is far from the best deck to utilize them. It's really meant to lessen the burden of running too many Traptrix normal summons since it can make Ping while not caring about any handtraps besides Fuwa/Maxx while also having something like a Drident on the sideline... but at the same time... you can still open 2-4 normal summons and be out of luck. Generally, you can end with a dead level 4/XYZ on the board, but if you didn't need your normal and weren't hit by Droll, you could always end with Drident + S:P + Sera and whatever backrow you had along the way. Otherwise, it's really Drident + Sera + backrow and maybe a body sticking around to the following turn if you didn't get hit by any handtraps on your Rat climb.

You could also dive further into extending and utilizing the Armored XYZ cards like EternalDream did in their list.

I just miss using cards like Overroot and being able to stop/stall more decks with a few handtraps that aren't lingering ones.
