Notes & Combos

With all the new support coming out I just had to give it a try. I played a lot of Dracotail and now a lot of this and I have to say: Branded is a lot more fun than DT.

Dracotail feels much stronger though. It has sick boardbreakers thorugh the Pan and Urgula, and it has a way higher ceiling.

However this deck is way less bricky, a lot more grindy and just straight up more fun.

With the new support you can also set it up so the deck is actually not nearly as complicated as it used to be. The combos are way more straightforward and the lines are more obvious. Dont get me wrong, there is still a huge skill ceiling on this deck.

Basic 1-card (or 1.5-card) combos in this deck are:

• Branded Fusion
• Branded in High Spirits (or Aluber)
• YEP COC
• Nadir Servant
• White Albaz
• Incredible Ecclesia
• Branded Opening

For a total of 15 starters, making this deck really consistent.

Most of these combos are pretty standard, I however opted to put YEP Coc and Golden Swordsoul in the deck to improve on the basic combos. This makes going 1st a little stronger and doesn't really brick the deck.

With Coc it is a Normal Summon starter and it improves the basic Branded Fusion line (Can be found in my Replays).

I unfortunately forgot to save a Replay doing the uninterrupted Swordsoul combo but it is really simple and only requires White Albaz or a way to get to it (mostly Branded in High Spirits):

1. Summon WhAlbaz by sending Albion
2. Summon Ecclesia, Tribute her for Golden Swoso
3. Synchro into Ecclesia and banish her for Quem
4. Trigger Quem and Golden
5. Send Kitt, reborn Ecclesia
6. Kitt reborn Albaz
7. Synchro Ecclesia and Albaz into Swordsoul Synchro
8. Trigger Swoso and Quem
9. Add Cartesia, reborn Albaz
10. Cartesia summon herself, then fuse Albaz and Swoso into Mirrorjade
11. End Phase set F&V or Retribution, add Ecclesia and Resummon Ecclesia

This is a pretty solid endboard and defintely helps raise the ceiling of this deck a considerable amount. Branded however really lives off a pilots ability to adjust the lines through Handtraps and to go down specific lines that fit the matchup, so dont get too caught up in combo tutorials.

The main thing to remember is:

Often you win by getting into the grind game. This means your main objective 90% of the time is just survive at all costs. If you can do that, you are often in a decent spot and can go off with endless recursion.
