I know the easy choice would have been to climb with Branded or Kewl Tune. However, I had never played Branded before. I already owned some of the cards from last year's campaign, and with the new support I finally built the deck.

I climbed from DLV 12 to DLV 16 with Orcust-Mitsurugi-Fiendsmith. From DLV 16 to DLV 20, I decided to learn Branded. At first it was confusing. I tried several Master Duel Meta and YouTube lists, changed ratios constantly, and after many wins and losses I slowly built my own version.

I experimented with Springans cards, Golden Swordsoul, Nadir Servant, Branded Opening, Branded in Red, and different Extra Deck choices until I found a list that felt right. I chose Sea Monster of Theseus over Sanctifire because Kewl Tune was everywhere during the event.

I had losing streaks that dropped me from DLV 19 to DLV 17, but I also had long winning streaks. After about a week of playing the deck, I finally felt comfortable piloting it. Watching my own replays helped me improve a lot.

My favorite cards ended up being Quem and Rindbrumm. I also found more value in cards like Branded Sword, Golden Swordsoul, and the Springans package than most lists seem to.

I don't love Branded as much as I love White Forest Azamina, but I enjoy learning new meta decks and understanding how they work.

One personal takeaway from this climb:

White Forest kills you and leaves you with no resources. Branded leaves you with no gas.
