Notes & Combos

A year after my first time making it to DLv. MAX, Exodiargo does it again. The Xyz monster helps Argostars a bit, but overall this deck hasn't kept pace with the past year of powercreep at all. After struggling to get out of DLv. 17, I wasn't planning on trying to go the rest of the way, but insomnia kicked in and I played a bunch of games, with DLv.19 surprisingly being the quickest and easiest level in a while.

Doomed Dragon never came up, Underworld Goddess never came up, and I think Link Spider never came up. There was one situation where Link Spider was almost useful, if I only had an Exodia limb in hand instead of the head. Replace a Doomed Dragon with S:P Little Knight in case the Link Spiders come up. I thought I did that, but it was somehow still missing from the final list.

That's 10! is still my favorite card, but a lot of opponents don't seem to like That being 10 for some reason.

I had three Exodia pieces in my opening hand of the first rank-up game for max level. For something that should be less than a 0.5% chance, that seems to happen every day.

I'm still not sure whether I prefer one Lightning Tydeu or two. I replaced one with Called by Grave after noticing I wasn't playing it and my opponents kept having Maxx "C", and it makes it less likely to draw it, which is generally good, but it makes it even worse when you do draw it. This is a fairly bricky deck in general, with 10+ cards that you don't want to ever draw, but at least Lightning Tydeu's discard cost makes use of cards in situations that they would otherwise be useless (drawing Fuwalos going first is the most obvious example of this, with that you don't even have to think about what to discard, or if not discarding is better).
