Notes & Combos

This is a build that I settled on after experimenting with a bunch of different options. (Yes I play even after claiming all the rewards because I generally find alternate formats pretty fun)

The main advantage of the Scrap engine over Armageddon Knight and Dark Grepher is that you can play through a single hand trap (not Maxx C) with an extender by going into Scrap Wyvern, and you can play through 2 hand traps if you draw a Called By or Designator in addition to that. In the more conventional build, I felt that there was a lack of synergy between the warrior type dumpers and the Danger monsters (other than being able to summon Grepher for free by pitching Nessie), because you can’t actually make anything if the effect on your normal summon gets negated.

The general idea behind this build is that you want to open with a starter and an extender, and this build is extremely consistent at doing that. Fossil Dig is a card that fits very neatly into that idea because it can be either a starter or an extender with Gilasaurus effectively being a searchable Danger. This also meant that you don’t have to play as many actual Danger monsters, which I didn’t feel was too good when played at a high count.
