Notes & Combos

Hi! I hit Duel Level Max in the latest Synchro Cup with (mostly) Pure Resonator! Here are my thoughts with my decklist choices, as well as my experience:

This version of the decklist is mainly pure, though there are some Bystials that I added late in my run, which barely came up. Still, I'd probably keep them for potential extension and disruption. If I had enough UR dust, I would certainly add Dominus Impulse, Foolish Burial, and Earthbound Prisoner Stone Sweeper for added consistency or extension. Of course, if I possessed it, I would splash the Centur-ion engine for a good boost.

My big issue with the deck is that it is extremely fragile against any form of disruption with most hands. Whether it be Infinite Impermanence on Soul Resonator, Bone Archfiend, and Red Rising Dragon, or Ash Blossom and Joyous Spring on Soul Resonator and Bone Archfiend, or a Bystial/D.D Crow on Crimson Resonator, or Nibiru the Primal Being, or Droll and Lock Bird sometimes, or - YOU GET MY POINT. Don't even get me started with hands that consisted of mostly tuners, which die to any disruption that hit our methods to access Bone Archfiend or Red Lotus King, Flame Crime. This is why I opt'd to run three of the latter, which actually wasn't too bad for Fuwalos lines (only two draws for a board of Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss+Red Reign).

This Synchro Cup was also heavily plagued by handtrap wars, which further made the experience all the more agitating (We run about 18 non-engine as well, and sometimes not even that was enough). In addition, Tenpai Dragon was very strong into the deck, typically bombarding us with handtraps and boardbreakers while still having a starter to OTK me. I ran Red Screen for this, but it was really late into the run.

You might think that I absolutely despise the deck due to my rant, but it truly does have a soft spot in my heart. It was my first real deck in Master Duel with the Crimson Powerforce structure deck, and the first deck that carried me to Diamond Rank. I guess you could say that I'm just a bit salty that one of my favorite rogue archetypes can't keep up with the current format. Still, I love the deck and hope that it will get some really good support soon! Thank you for reading my usual yap session for every decklist I post on this website!
