borgir!

blind second dogmatika nouvelle

  • my favorite variant of nouvelle by far, i wanted to try it in the event even tho the extra deck restrictions kneecapped it a lot
  • activation order should generally be menu > confrontation > poissoniere > anything else
    • assuming everything resolves, you want to use menu first so poisonniere can add whatever you need that your opponent doesnt give you
    • even if your opponent passed on an empty board, using confrontation to give opponent patissciel makes ecclesia special summon, fleurdelis special summon and negate, and matrix double search live
    • keep in mind some (but not all) of the dogmatika stuff prevents you from summoning from the extra deck for the rest of the turn, which includes confrontation
  • do not blind activate alba zoa or maximus unless youre ok with risking your opponent triggering their own arc light or mirage lights lmao
    • i personally wouldnt cut either tho, just because alba zoas high attack did come up, and both are high level monsters that can be used for ritual material, or special summoned for tribute fodder for the ritual effects
  • minimal nouvelle engine count because most of them are bricks
    • more than one restuarant is not necessary imo, unless you really like the consistency or you really hate whiffing on the buerillabaisse excavation (more would be even less necessary if the extra deck had no restrictions)
  • mst over cosmic specifically because of true light lol
  • econ can be kinda awkward since it wont trigger the rituals unless theres already an attack position monster on field, but if econ resolves you can also just go battle to still get the trigger (but only for the lv3+ rituals)
    • book of moon, lance, or chalice are good alternative tech cards that can also trigger rituals
    • if you want a hand trap that can be used after drawing off of the restaurant end phase effect, mourner is probably the most flexible. veiler is completely dead if you draw it for turn going second, and imperm is kinda mid given no one is making particularly impressive turn 1 boards.
    • sol and luna is almost a goated tech card for the deck, but unfortunately the flip up effect puts monsters in defense and not attack
  • dyna mondo can be good if you summon it before the dogmatika stuff, but i didnt want to spend the dust for it
