Notes & Combos
So it turns out argo is a pretty good stun deck lmao
Tech choices:
Armored XYZ stuff - Yes, the draws are bricks but you always discard in combo so it's not the end of the world. Getting +2 discards for Lightning Tydeu helps a lot, plus an extra interaction. The spell card can also help with lethal, and you can easily go into fortress off of the argo xyz.
Crystal Zero - Free full field negate whenever you go into armor stuff, why not?
Gravity Controller / Guard Dragon - Make your xyz in the EMZ so you can remove some bigger threats by going into gravity controller. Apophis goes into guard dragon which helps make rabbit or little knight, and is often removal. You will get in situations where you have them floodgated but need to remove a big threat or they'll beat you to death, and these help with that.
Claiveolish - 2 level 4's = 5k+ damage. Very easy to push for lethal with the argos burning every turn as well.
Multiple argo names - None of them are OPT. 2 Eteo's = 2 non target bounces. You get a lot of searches so it actually comes up a lot.
Floodgates - Shadow imprisoning mirror = Maliss and Mitsu both die. Soul Drain also does well vs them. For everything else, there's Powersink, which you can trigger simply by summoning and unsummoning 2 argo names in draw phase, so it effectively is a 1 sided skill drain for the deck. You don't use a ton of monster effects so you can usually get by with just 2 activations on your turn.
All in all, I honestly think argo is pretty good now, it's a very different playstyle, and you really need to understand every deck you're against since timing the disruptions via statue / field card / eteo is unique vs every deck. I honestly think it's underrated though, deck feels great. Doesn't really care about most hand traps that much which is nice, turns are short. Can kill pretty quick or stall and burn.
