Notes & Combos

Since I saw a few event Traptrix lists on the site and saw that Tune was seeing some play, I figured I'd give it a shot since I already got 5 wins in a row with Beetroopers and ended up pulling 3 Tune from the selection pack (couldn't pull Pingu from it though..) that I never dismantled.

Getting the title wasn't too bad overall, however, it did take a bit to finally get 5 wins in a row.

Ended up going 16-7 with the deck with this being my run:

• 2 won - 3 lost - 3 won - 1 lost - 4 won - 2 lost - 2 won - 1 lost - 5 won

Regarding what I lost against, this is what they were in order

• Beetrooper - Simorgh (with Lyrilusc) - Lyrilusc - Yosenju - Melffy - Lyrilusc - Lyrilusc

The Yosenju game was painful since I went first and it was the only game I opened 2 Maxx C and then I kept drawing Storming Mirror Force and other non-destruction traps. Ended up losing while my opponent had 100 LP left I believe.

Regarding the deck itself, it wasn't horrible. I'd sometimes open up like 3 Traptrix monsters and it'd make some things a bit rougher, but overall things felt fine.

You could remove the Paleos, however, I wanted them in in case if I drew Tune and had them in hand. They didn't do much, but I believe that they did help the few times they did get summoned. It also let me run Sky Cav (summoned it once and it was hit with TT) since a Paleo + Maxx C = 2 level 2s.

As for the ED, I never used Diamond Dire Wolf, Atlas, nor the second Atypus. I rarely had a ton on the field at once.

Regarding Tune, it was nice to start with, however, if you set all your traps and didn't have Mantis, it could be a bit of a pain afterwards, although, since you can't kill right away, games did last a bit, so it's not the worst thing in the world.

I did discard Holeutea for Tune and then drew both a second Tune and my second Holeutea once, which was kind of funny.

Either way, it was a nice break from having to deal with ranked, even if Maxx C is legal.
