Notes & Combos
I'm happy to have made it until top 16 with this spicy variation!!! Lets get the notes done:
As usual, R.B. is quite the sleeper deck with its weakness being bricking due to the lambdas not being able to special summon themselves, and lacking pushes that could be easily fixed with a link1.
Usually, i would be running girsu (read below why if you're interested, else skip to next paragraph), but this time i decided to play MAN engine. The concept is easy, MAN gets into temple, set apophis the serpent, set any other spell, search Serket, guess what is a link2 machine with 1500 ATK or lower? Thats right, our favourite girl, Camellia! if you arent familiar, she dumps hornet drone, you get it back with kagari, link kagarai for kaina/hayate, make hornet drone's token into the other girl, and you have yourself full R.B. combo cuz 2 machines equal Vulcan and i wont explain that because i assume you are familiar with it.
the pros? you get drolled on MAN? you have at least a disruption, as well as 3 bodies that cant be destroyed by battle or card effects thanks to MAN. it is a far better halfboard than orcust can. Also divine serpent apophis is a great followup. And Temple continuously adds other copies of MAN as follow up.
Cons? imperm/veiler on man stop the combo, so if he is your only starter and he gets disrupted and you didnt have any extender, you'll need to pray that the nonengine you hopefully drew carry you.
Imo? not gonna lie i didnt test it in ranked i just balled with it in metaweekly, so i dont know if it is better or worse than girsu galatea-1 world crown package, but i sure had a blast in this metaweekly run! hope yall will had a blast watching the replays, and catchya next time!
(Credits for the idea: invalid url go check this legend out!!!)
(Mandatory/Traditional P.S.: For pete's sake, ban droll Konami, thank you, I dont wanna do droll lines and missing out on fieldspell cuz of them or getting full boarded and getting hit by droll🥹)
(PS.2.: you also could technically run songs of the dominator, shoutout to my good friend AxelFrost for pointing that out, if its good or not in practice? thats up to you to decide )
