Notes & Combos
Video of the climb can be found here.
Started with a pure tellar list. Had stagnated in mid diamond, so I pivoted to a magnet tellar variant and climbed rather quickly. Last 20 duels leading into master had an 80% win rate.
The magnet cards are really good at pushing through interaction. Flux is a nice addition since it provides value to opening any additional copies of bonding. The engine plays well under droll and does not xyz lock you, with the main downside being some bricky hands.
With this list you usually set up a board with 7+ forms of interruption. Batalymus and twins allow you to set up a towers if your opponent plays through your board.
You can go for a turn skip line, but it is more fragile with how this list is constructed. I usually go for a turn skip if:
- Fuwa/Maxx C resolves mid combo (desperate measure)
- I'm made to go first (blind second deck)
- The opponent is on 60 cards and their field does not glow during the combo
Durendal allows you to handloop your opponent if you open droll under Fuwa/Maxx C. Unukalhai allows you to set up a nice board under droll and adds more names in the grave for the omega 7 towers effect.
Also shoutouts to the tellarknights website. It's a great resource for learning combos.
