Notes & Combos
Millennium/Zoodiac/Fiendsmith — Season 58 Master 5
After doing a detailed analysis and looking for ways to keep the deck successful, I believe that the following ratio changes are the best configuration this deck can offer.
Zoodiac cards are the best starters in this deck. Any Zoo starter can access Sengenjin through Broadbull.
Going second, the strategy relies on having enough handtraps to force a halfboard. As for the non-engine, I wouldn't say it's optimized. I'm simply playing the cards I currently have available.
Going first, any Zoo card can lead to a board with 6–7 uninterrupted interactions. The goal is to build strong board with the following interactions
- Exodia — Spell negate
- Exxod, Fires of Rage — Board wipe
- Desirae — Field negate
- Azurune — Summon negate
- Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand — Monster negate
- Heart of Gaia — Monster negate
- Heart of the Blue-Eyes — Send a Level 8+ monster to the GY
Despite what it might seem, this deck is surprisingly resilient against handtraps, with the exception of Mulcharmy Fuwalos and Maxx "C". Against those, you basically have to go for Exodia and cross your fingers that it's enough.
I recommend checking out the replays to see how the deck plays in practice.
The Extra Deck is extremely tight. There are other options I'd like to include, but this list has given me the most success so far. S:P is a very useful card, and the second Doomed Dragon is great for breaking the opponent's half boards.
Bricks and Consistency
7 bricks are mandatory in this build: the 5 Exodia pieces, 1 Exxod Trap, and 1 Azurune Trap. I'm still considering whether Azurune is worth running, so I'll leave that decision up to you.
Deck breakdown:
- 23 starters (14 Millennium + 9 Zoodiac)
- 5 Fiendsmith
- 24 handtraps
- 1 Gaia
- 7 bricks
Opening rates:
- 92.02% — At least 1 millennium starter
- 64.21% — At least 2 millennium starters
- 93.10% — At least 2 handtraps
- 67.21% — At least 2 handtraps
- 47.46% — At least 1 brick
- 9.92% — At least 2 bricks
